
A simple life is a good life. To focus on what brings joy and peace and spend time there. To rediscover the lost things that I had put away and revisit them. Now is the time to pick up that novel that I have wanted to read, to immerse myself in the classic film that I have wanted to watch and to dive deeper into a subject that I have wanted to learn more about.
To take the time to sit in the sun, listening the the chirping of the birds or the croaking of the frogs. To notice the fleeting sunset as it gives rise to the dark sky and the array of stars. To enjoy the longer days of summer and find rest for my soul.
To slow down and savor the moments with family and friends, because they are the special and precious times.
We had to say goodbye to our beloved family dog Toffee of ten years. It was unexpected and sudden and difficult, but what wonderful lessons to be learned from a dog.
She taught me to greet everyone enthusiastically, to be on guard for what comes to your house, to take your time on walks noticing the little things, to be content not doing but being and to cry when your heart is broken. She taught me that a simple life is a good life.
