Be Kind

Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience bearing with one another and forgiving one another, as the Lord has forgiven you, you must also do. And over all these put on love, that is, the bond of perfection. Col 3:12-14

The Lord has brought me back to this scripture verse. I feel the words pierce my heart and the rays of love enter. The light drives out all that does not belong and renews me, beckoning me closer to the One that is. Breathe in deeply of the pure living air, it refreshes the soul, come my daughter, and follow Me.

There is a healing that takes place within me and I start to care for myself, to see myself as the Lord sees me, to be kind to myself. To rid myself of all which weighs me down, and turn to what lifts me up, to choose joy.

No kind action ever stops with itself. One kind action leads to another. Good example is followed. A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and roots spring up and make new trees. The greatest work that kindness does to others is that is makes them kind themselves. Amelia Earhart

To focus on that one thing daily to accomplish that is out of my normal routine. That baby step forward that gives momentum and a sense of accomplishment. A choice to act, to work, to start; today not tomorrow. To be aware and cherish the present moment, in that way, I can truly live, to be kind to myself and in turn, be kind to others.

To be kind is more important than to be right. Many times, what people need is not a brilliant mind that speaks but a special heart that listens. F. Scott Fitzgerald
