The Doors of Life

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8

Thank you, my dear friends, for praying for my special intention from last week, and for walking with me “in the pause” as I awaited news of test results. It is especially difficult as I live far from my hometown and the physical separation is truly felt in times like this when the communication is over the phone and not in person.

The door opened when I heard the results and I was not longer “in the pause” holding my breath. Yes, the cancer is once again showing signs of activity in the original spot. Somehow, I already knew this deep down, but now the doctors had confirmed it. Thankfully, unlike the first time, it has not spread and it is contained to a small area, and I felt a sigh of relief. Because of this, there is a specific treatment plan put in place and I am thankful for the wonderful medical team. I feel the Lord walking with my family through this door, step by step, He is with us.

I was at daily Mass last week, praying specifically for this special intention, and I felt the Lord had given me a sign. I did not personally witness it, but was shown a picture of the captured moment. It was an eagle on the top of the cross on the roof of the church, which marks the place where the tabernacle is located. I could feel the Holy Spirit speak to my soul that the Lord heard my petition, and is with me and my family.

There are many doors of life that the Lord leads me through, one step at a time. I listen for His voice and follow Him, because He is the way to the truth, to the hope and to the love.

For this momentary light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison as we look not to what is seen but to what is unseen; for what is seen is transitory, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Cor4:17-18
