It seems like the Lord is showing me the simple way, when my mind seems to overthink, I am reminded of the simple truth.
Last week, I set up an appointment at my gym for an orientation and personal assessment with a trainer. I have decided to get back on track with my health and fitness and I desired to have a starting point and guidance to begin my journey. She began by asking me some questions and had me fill out a form, then she proceeded to get my weight and height, and calculated my body fat percentage and BMI. Next, she gave me my first goal, I held my breath and was ready for a long list of action items that she was sure to give me, and she said, drink more water this week. My brain wanted more, and I pondered on this simple task, add water.
What a beautiful thought to ponder, this past and last weekend of the Christmas season, where we celebrated the Baptism of the Lord. The Lord Himself enters the Jordan river to be baptized by John, and the sky is torn open by God the Father proclaiming Jesus as His Beloved Son while the Holy Spirit descends upon Him. Out of great love for us, God has brought healing and purification to us through water.
The soul is regenerated in the sacred waters of baptism and thus becomes God’s child. St. Maximilian Kolbe
As I add more water to my daily routine, I remember to renew my Baptismal promises; to reject satan and sin, to believe in God the Father, Jesus His Son and the Holy Spirit and to serve His Holy Church. This is the simple truth of love in which I follow my Lord and my God.
Dearly beloved, each word and deed of our Savior, Jesus Christ, is for us a lesson in virtue and piety. For this end also did He assume our nature. St. Basil the Great
