Hope

For I know well the plans I have in mind for you, plans for your welfare and not for woe, so as to give you a future of hope. When you call me, and come and pray to Me, I will listen to you. When you look for Me, you will find Me. Yes, when you seek me with your whole heart. Jer. 29:11-13

I find myself in the first week of Advent in a new month almost in disbelief. The days seem to slip away and December has made an appearance.

Advent means “coming” in Latin, the coming of Jesus into the world. Jesus is the pure light who pours out faith, hope and love and bathes the world in His truth. A truth that is written in my heart.

When I go to Him and call to Him, He is there. When I pray to Him, He listens. What a beautiful mystery that as I await His second coming, He is present to me now.

He is my brother, He is my friend, He is my Lord, He is my Savior. He takes me by the hand and walks beside me. He knows that I have been depressed, He knows that I have been sad and shed tears, He knows me to the depths of my heart, there is nothing hidden from Him.

He gives me hope as I feel His hand against mine. He is with me as I enter into this beautiful month of December 2021. He speaks to my heart to let me know it is ok to feel my emotions; to laugh, to cry, to feel joy, to feel pain, to be human.

My hope is in Him, who never leaves my side. I wish you a most blessed Advent season and that you experience the hope that is all around.
