As I continue to journey into the desert with the Lord this Lenten season, I begin to get glimpses that new life is coming. I hear the songs of the birds that have left for the winter and have returned, the buds appear on the trees where leaves will soon burst forth, the light of the day is increasing, and the gentle rain has come to wash the land.
The flowers appear on the earth, the time of pruning the vines has come, and the song of the turtledove is heard in our land. The Song of Solomon 2:12
I walk with the Lord in the desert. I continue in my Lenten practices that I have committed to. When I have fallen and stumbled, the Lord was there to pick me up. When the darkness came, He was with me. He never left my side. He strengthens me and I find a renewed energy and vigor to finish the remaining days of Lent. I give the Lord all praise and glory for the great gift of His blessings and graces.
I am with you always. Matthew 28:20
The Lord now leads me deeper into the desert, it is a place of suffering. But it is a place that I must go. He does not want me to stay there, but to move closer to Him through it. I trust the Lord and follow Him. That is where I can hear the song of the turtledove, and I feel that springtime is near.
Arise, my love, my dove, my fair one, and come away. Song of Solomon 2:10
