Everyday is a gift from God. Do I live in joy and gratitude? The Gospel reading from Sunday spoke to my heart. It was from Luke 17.
Jesus enters a village where He meets ten lepers. They stand at a distance calling out to Him, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us.” Jesus sees them. He tells them to go show themselves to the priests. As they are on their way, they are all healed.
However, only one, the Samaritan man, returned to the Lord. His eyes were opened and He sees the Lord. He realizes that something extraordinary has taken place, he was healed. He returned in great humility, glorifying God in a loud voice. He fell at the feet of Jesus in thanksgiving.
Jesus asks about the other nine. But they do not return. The Lord proclaims to the Samaritan man that his faith has saved him, to get up and go out. He is sent to tell of the good news of Jesus.
What a beautiful reminder of how God calls me to live. To open my eyes to see all the blessings around me. To have gratitude to the Lord for all He has done and is doing in my life. To give glory to God. To be intentional in my day and to see the goodness of God.
Everyday is a gift, thank you Lord. God is everywhere, He is love, He is mercy, and I choose Him. Thank you, my God, for seeing me, your daughter, for loving me and for your healing touch. Help me to live in joy, to return to You in thanksgiving and to go where You send me. Help me to choose wisely. Amen.
