Love My Neighbor

As I follow the Lord deeper into the desert, the Lord is revealing something to my heart.

He is calling me to look to others and away from self. To do something tangible for another person, with love and kindness. He is teaching me to love my neighbor.

It is in serving others that I find joy begin to spring up in my heart. When the little, everyday things I do are offered to the Lord as a prayer.

The Lord shows me it can be as simple as preparing a favorite meal for my husband, picking up a thoughtful gift for a neighbor, or taking extra time to pray for a special intention.

It is time spent with purpose. Thank you, Lord, for leading me deeper into the desert, where the sun shines its light into my heart. The light transforms me to serve, pray and love more.

I surrender myself to You, my Lord and God, I offer You my worries, my sadness, and my loneliness. May Your light shine upon them and dispel the darkness. Teach me to serve You, my God and to serve my neighbor with love. Amen.

A life not lived for others is not a life.” St. Mother Teresa
