I like to spend time in the quiet of the early morning or the late night. The darkness of the sky showcases the stars as they bring forth their light.
It is as if the earth is waiting for the brilliance of the sun to appear as it waits in silence. The sun is always there but we don’t always see it, this has been especially true this year with the rainy weather we have been getting. The sun remains hidden behind the thick clouds.
However there is a certain comfort to the rain as it falls in a certain rhythm, soothing and calming, it cleans away the debris and brings a clean fragrance to the air. What is the Lord calling me to clear away so I can better follow Him?
I ponder this as I sit in the darkness, the moon reflects the sun as it shines forth its light down to the earth. There is a gentleness and tenderness to be felt in the calm of the early morning.
As I enter this season of Christmas, I am filled with the hope of Christ, the One who has come in Word and Flesh. He has chosen me for this time, He calls me forth, to open my heart to the One whose light always shines forth in pure love. O come O come, Emmanuel; God is with us.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. John 1:14
