I have completed week 6 of Magnify 90 and this week’s virtue focused on industriousness, which means to work with diligence and care, not succumbing to idleness or sloth.
I have been blessed with great examples of hard work by my parents and grandparents who modeled this virtue for me. They cared for me and all of my family members with great love. This was not always in words but by their actions.
This virtue has also entered into my married life with a spouse who has always worked hard to provide for me and the kids.
As I have pondered the idea of work, God has spoken to my heart and told me that He is always working in my life. He cares for me and watches over me.
This is an incredible thought, the God of the universe, who created heaven and earth, abides with me in perfect love, He is the maker of all the good which shines forth in love.
He invites me to enter into my work as a prayer, to keep my eyes on Him as I go about my day.
My God, I desire to work in service of You, with joy, and do everything in honor of You, my Lord, and my God. Amen.
“We are at Jesus’ disposal. If he wants you to be sick in bed, if he wants you to proclaim His work in the street, if he wants you to clean the toilets all day, that’s all right, everything is all right. We must say, ‘I belong to you. You can do whatever you like.’ And this is our strength. This is the joy of the Lord.” – St. Teresa of Calcutta
