Fears and Tears

I have now completed week 7 of Magnify 90, this week’s virtues are purity and modesty.

Scripture says, “Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8. This is my heart’s desire and life’s goal, to grow in holiness and ultimately, to be a saint in Heaven.

I love this quote from St. Therese, “You cannot be half a saint, you must be a whole saint or no saint at all.”

The Lord does not call me to be lukewarm but to be on fire with love of Him. This is the call to “Follow Me”, the simple words He spoke to the Apostles, He also speaks to me, “Follow Me.”

It is in love that I live out the virtues of purity and modesty, for God, for my neighbor, and for myself. It also requires faith in God to follow Him in mind, body, and soul. To know that I am a temple of the Holy Spirit and God dwells with me. To remember my neighbor in this way. It certainly begs me to live with awe, reverence, and respect of God, neighbor, and myself.

Lord, I pray for the grace to follow You in every area of my life, for the virtues of purity and modesty, and to magnify You, my Lord and my God, with my life, I offer my prayer to You, in the Most Holy Name of Jesus. Amen.
