I have encountered the Lord. He has called me to follow Him to a quiet place where I can spend time with Him. To be still and to receive.
The Lord has called me to prayer and silence, to sit at His feet and listen to Him.The Lord has revealed to me that He is present in the Holy Eucharist, in Sacred Scripture, in those suffering, in those full of joy, in nature, in my very self.
He is near, He is far, He is everywhere. The Lord is revealing Himself to me, and inviting me to a place of greater contemplation.
It is a place of giving myself over to Him. To surrender my will to Him and allow Him to work in and through me. It is a place where He is hidden, yet revealed to me, through the eyes of faith. It is a place of love.
Saint Teresa of Avila is a great witness to me, by her deep faith, prayer life, and love of God. I continue on the journey, praying for her intercession.
I pray, Dear Lord, teach me to follow You, with courage and strength, with silence and contemplation, and with faith and love. I ask this in your mighty name, Jesus. Amen.
For prayer is nothing else than being on terms of friendship with God. St. Teresa of Avila
