“Let there be light” and there was light. God saw how good the light was. God then separated the light from the darkness. Genesis 1:3-5
The Lord has been bringing light to me in the darkness. It is an awareness that God is always there, always listening, and always working in my life. He calls me to more silence and peace enters my life.
In the beautiful season of Advent, I travel with the Lord through the days that grow shorter and the nights that grow longer. I draw deeper into the word of God and He shows me the beauty that is there; it is faith, it is hope, it is charity.
I gaze upon the beauty of the vast sky, where its silence can be felt in the darkness. I see the stars dotting the horizon and the moon reflecting the sun. It is the way the Lord is with me, His light shines upon me. The winter chill leaves me and I am covered with the warmth of His love.
The Lord brings me through the scriptures, I journey with Him and hear the words He spoke back then that resonate in my heart today. He meets me where I am, and He shows me that life continues when there is darkness, that hope springs forth, that light is poured forth, and it is good.
Rise up in splendor! Your light has come, the glory of the Lord shines upon you. See, the darkness covers the earth, and thick clouds cover the peoples; But upon you the Lord shines, and over you appears His glory. Isaiah 60:1-2
