The Lord has spoken to me through a song. I was in the Adoration chapel at church when the words ‘King of my heart’ kept repeating in my mind.
I felt that these words were part of lyrics to a song. They were familiar to me, but as I sat there, I couldn’t get further than those few words.
It was a few days later when I searched for the song and discovered it quickly as a number of artists had done versions of the song.
As I listened to the different renditions, the words pierced my heart, and I felt God was speaking directly to me.
The words are beautiful, and like light they penetrated my being with warmth and I felt the providence and care of the Father.
A Father that will protect and comfort me at all times. A Father that will always be there. A Father that will always love me.
A Father that will comfort me as I mourn the loss of my father. A Father that will hold me close as the tears run down my face.
Thank you, my God and my Father, for this beautiful gift. You are the King of my heart, and I give you praise, honor, and glory. Amen.
“Let the King of my heart
Be the mountain where I run
The fountain I drink from
Oh, He is my song
Let the King of my heart
Be the shadow where I hide
The ransom for my life
Oh, He is my song
You are good, You are good, oh oh
And let the King of my heart
Be the wind inside my sails
The anchor in the waves
Oh oh, He is my song
Let the King of my heart
Be the fire inside my veins
The echo of my days
Oh oh, He is my song
You’re never gonna let me down.”
