Fears and Tears

Sometimes when I find it hard to pray, I listen to music which seems to express what I am feeling.

Music lifts my mood and turns my attention to God. I love to sing out loud when I am alone, it frees my heart and turns my gaze upward.

Music touches my soul and I feel joy and sadness and happiness and loneliness, the tears flow as memories come to the surface.

Music releases what is in the depths of my heart and I am grateful for the artists who share their special gift with the world.

I have been listening to the song the Goodness of God. The lyrics are below, it is a beautiful song that speaks of God as Father and Friend, and speaks of His great care, mercy, and love. It speaks of His pursuit of me, His faithfulness, and His goodness.

Thank you, my God and my Lord, for speaking to me through this song. I know You love me, I pray for the grace of accepting that love. Lord, I don’t feel worthy to be loved, I pray for healing from that lie. I pray for Your abundant love to wash over me and heal my wounds. Lord, open my heart to receive Your love.
