Fears and Tears

We are in the midst of a rainy weather pattern that is a nice soaking rain that makes everything lush and green. It is soothing in its rhythm and calming to the soul.

The rain causes me to reflect on the Holy Word of God in Sacred Scripture. I take my time reading the passages where the Lord is leading me. The words flow into my mind and body as I slowly meditate on them. They reflect light into my heart and reveal the love and care of God.

Rainfall brings out the human senses and I especially love the smell of rain; it has a fresh, clean scent that fills the air. I also love the sound of rain as it washes away the dust of winter and brings forth the new growth of spring.

Thank you, my Lord, for the gentle fall of rain that turns my eyes to You. My heart rests in You and my soul is at peace. Amen.

Give ear, O heavens, and let me speak; let the earth hear the words of my mouth! May my teaching soak in like the rain, and my utterance drench like the dew, Like a downpour upon the grass, like a shower upon the crops. For I will proclaim the name of the Lord, praise the greatness of our God. Deuteronomy 32:1-3.
