Fears and Tears

The words of St. Teresa of Avila are so comforting in a time when darkness seems to be all around.

Let nothing disturb you; Let nothing make you afraid; All things pass; But God is unchanging, patience is enough for everything. You who have God, lack nothing, God alone is sufficient. St. Teresa of Avila

In the darkness is when the light shines brighter. The hope of the light in the darkness, the complete surrender to the Lord, with prayer and petition; offering up to the one who is always there, who never changes, who listens unceasingly, who loves me.

There is no evil to be faced that Christ does not face with us. There is no enemy that Christ has not already conquered. There is no cross to bear that Christ has not already born for us, and does not now bear it with us. St. John Paul II

I can face the darkness and see the light that is there, the grace that is poured out and have a renewed hope and strength, to not fear because God alone is sufficient.

It is a call to act, through my works, to love and serve those around me. It feels so small, that it will not make a difference. I pray that with God’s grace, He will make the little flame I light ignite and be a beacon of hope in the darkness. That it shall bring peace and love to all. Amen.
