It has begun, the way of suffering and the way of love. It is the path to the resurrection that Jesus walked, and He calls me to follow Him. In His suffering, in His triumph, in His pain, in His joy.
The way is not easy. It is the way of the cross. It leads to death, it leads to life.
No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. John 15:13
I enter into the somber time of Holy Week. I follow the Lord through reading daily scripture, praying morning and evening prayer, and listening to sacred music. It is the plan that I chose in advance for this week. The time to give to the Lord.
Be with me Lord, help me to pray and go where you lead. I offer up my little way for Your glory. I offer up my little suffering for Your honor. I offer all for Your praise.
Dear Lord, I pray for the grace of silence; calm my mind and curb my speech, and for the grace of surrender; open my heart and increase my trust. Thank you Lord, for Your pure love and mercy You bestow on me. I pray for peace, in the world, in the country, in the state, in the city, within my family, within my friends, and within my heart. Amen.
In the silence of the heart, God speaks. St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta.
