The Tender Love of God

I sit in silence, and ponder what the Lord has done for me. My heart is overwhelmed by the tender love of the Lord during this most sacred time of the year. Every year of the Lenten season, followed by the Passion and Resurrection of the Lord, I experience something new.

I spent time with Sacred Scripture and it focused me on who God is, and who He reveals Himself to be. Especially in the Genesis and the Exodus readings. God is the great I Am, the One who is, the Alpha and the Omega, the Mighty One. He has no beginning and no end. He is my protector, my shelter, and my strong tower.

This year, the Lord spoke to me, in the recesses of my heart. He made known to me who I am in His eyes.

I am His beloved daughter, I am loved, I am friend, I am forgiven, I am beautiful, I am pure, I am lovely, I am chosen, I am daughter, I am sister, I am mother, I am woman, I am gentle, I am kind, I am strong.

It is not what I see.

Lord, help me to see as You see. Help me to look upon myself with love and I pray that You heal me from the blindness that distorts my vision. Lord, I cannot see as You see.

I pray that You heal my wounds that are within my heart. They are coming to the surface so I can face them. Lord, let Your light shine upon them. I pray this in Your Mighty name, Amen.

I follow the Lord as I continue forward in the beautiful Easter season. I sit with the “I am” words that I received during a time of prayer and I am grateful for the tender love of God.

Happy Easter. The Lord is risen, indeed! Amen, Alleluia.
