Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they are created, and you renew the face of the earth. Amen
The Holy Spirit put a prompting on my heart to plan a reunion for a women’s retreat I attended over ten years ago. It was a still, small tug at my heart and I received confirmation right away. A member who had put the retreat on for us had happened to call my workplace as I was pondering this prompting. I told her what I was feeling before we went on to the business of her call. She later emailed me with an encouragement to listen to the Holy Spirit, which led me to follow His prompting and begin to plan the reunion.
Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, as indeed you do. 1 Thes 5:11
The Holy Spirit would guide and reveal little bits of how to plan the day, providing the topic, the speaker and prayer time. It was a call to spend time with Him. The day was peaceful and relaxing and we followed where ever the spirit led us with the day unfolding in a beautiful manner.
The topic was prayer and fasting, and to be honest it was a topic I resisted at first. It turned out, however, to be a beautiful talk that touched our hearts and spoke to each of us differently. It was exactly what each of us was meant to hear. We enjoyed a serene time of silent prayer and were also able to reflect with one another with an openness to share our feelings and thoughts of how God spoke to us as individuals. It was a special time of sisterhood.
The Lord manifested Himself to me as a mirror, as if I was looking into a reflection. It was clear, bright and smooth as if a piece of glass in a mirror. His love was reflecting to me as I abided in Him and He with me. I was still and sat with the Lord, not doing anything, but receiving the love He was pouring out to me. Tears would come and it was an intimate experience, a special time with Him, He who loves me.
I give all praise and thanksgiving to God, who provided this amazing day of sisterhood and I will treasure it in my heart. Much love to my sisters in Christ, who were there and those who were there in spirit. We are all connected, my sisters and I am grateful to God for you. YSIC Vikki
