My journey continues into the desert. I have felt despair and discouragement as I trek further into the dry, arid land. An anxiety has overtaken me and I am restless and uneasy.
An awareness comes to me, and I bring this to the Lord. I say, “Lord, I turn to You, whom is all good and filled with love, shield me from the evil one. I follow you Lord, Your voice, Your lead, Your steps into the desert. Lord, take my anxiety and let me feel Your peace.”
The Lord answers me, He speaks to my heart – My daughter, feel the sun on your face, that is Me; feel the breeze on your cheek, that is Me.
Relying on God has to begin all over again every day, as if nothing had yet been done. C.S. Lewis
The Lord is in my midst, He is always there. The desert is barren, empty and quiet. It is a great lesson in detachment, of letting go in trust and surrendering my life to God. To depend on Him, one step at a time. To take time to focus on the beauty that is there, in the sand that surrounds me, when the strong driving wind casts everything away, and I am left with the quiet voice of God deep in my heart, who beckons me further into the desert.
The more we let God take over, the more truly ourselves we become. C.S. Lewis
