The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:5
I have felt more peace this week. As I stay close to the Lord in prayer, His light radiates everything around me and within me.
I bask in the sunlight and I feel new life, a glimpse of spring in my heart which brings hope in the desert. I continue walking forward, following the Lord in the desert, and I notice the beauty around me. He beckons me to sit with Him, to spend time with Him, to stay awhile in the middle of the desert, and I do.
The desert is quite stunning with the contrast of the pale sand to the vivid blue sky, the desert landscape that stretches far into the distance, the warm breeze that carries the fragrant, sweet smell of flowers in bloom to me, and I hear the cry of birds that echo from far away. There is life in the desert that I did not notice before.
Life gets distracting and I can be blind to what is right in front of me. The desert allows me to see life as simpler, where not much is needed as nature instructs, just a turning to the light of the sun.
Light is sweet! and it is pleasant for the eyes to see the sun. Ecclesiastes 11:7
