Fears and Tears

I feel the Lord calling me into a closer relationship with Him.

It is astonishing to me how wrapped up I can get into social media or a television series, spending countless hours focused on it.

This week, I decided to do a little experiment and I disabled the Facebook app on my phone. I was shocked to find out how many times I tried to click on it without giving it a second thought. It was such an automatic response.

I have felt a freedom from that one little change in my life.

Yesterday, after I arrived at work, I discovered that I left my cell phone at home. I made a quick call to my husband to let him know to call the office phone if he needed anything. But I spent the whole day without my cell phone, and it was amazing. A few things came up during the day, where I would have grabbed my cell phone, and looked up the information. But I was forced to do it another way, and it was fine.

I feel Jesus calling me to follow Him on the way. In my blindness, I cannot see the way, but I trust in the One who does. I choose to follow Jesus, to listen for His voice, and move forward towards it.

His voice echoes through the scriptures and speaks to my heart. His voice echoes through the Mass and speaks to my heart. His voice echoes through the earth and the heavens and speaks to my heart.

Jesus is calling.
