I like to spend time in the quiet of the early morning or the late night. The darkness of the sky showcases the stars as they bring forth their light.
It is as if the earth is waiting for the brilliance of the sun to appear as it waits in silence. The sun is always there but we don’t always see it.
The moon reflects the sun as it shines its gentle light down to the earth. There is a gentleness and tenderness to be felt if we allow ourselves to be in the silence.
As I ponder this in the 4th week of Advent, I am filled with the hope of Christmas. To open my heart to the One whose light always shines forth in pure love. Emmanuel, God is with us.
