The Virtues of Meekness and Patience

I have now finished week 10 of Magnify 90, the virtues that I prayed with are meekness and patience. The word “obedience” has also been repeating for me in my prayer time.

In addition to my Lenten practices, I prayed the St. Joseph novena and yesterday was his feast day, St. Joseph, spouse of Blessed Virgin Mary.

St. Joseph is a wonderful model of meekness, patience, and obedience. He is a man of great faith, strength, and courage. Not a verbal word is recorded from him in the Bible, but his actions, faith, and service to God are evident when meditating on sacred scripture.

“Let us love Jesus above all, let us love Mary as our mother; but then, how could we keep from loving Joseph, who was so intimately united to both Jesus and Mary? And how can we honor him better than by imitating his virtues? Now, what else did he do in all his life but contemplate, study, and adore Jesus, even in the midst of his daily labors? Behold, therefore, our model.”
–St. Madeleine Sophie Barat

Thank you Lord, for the powerful intercession of St. Joseph, I am grateful that You heard and answered my prayers. Be with me as I continue my Lenten journey, I pray to draw closer to You, my Lord and my God, and grow in the virtues of patience and meekness while being obedient to Your Word. It is written upon my heart, and I your little daughter, desire to enter into silence where You speak into the depths of my soul. Amen.
