Out of the Depths

I sit in silence before the Lord in the morning. It is something that I plan into my routine; to spend 20 minutes with Him. I set the timer on my phone, so I can focus and not get distracted.

During the prayer time, the Lord directs me to Psalm 130. It focuses my mind on God, and His merciful care and redemption. He gives me hope in the face of darkness, He is the light that shines forth. Thank you, my Lord and my God. Please watch over those most in need. Amen.

Psalm 130

Out of the depths I call to you, Lord;

Lord, hear my cry! May your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.

If you, Lord, keep account of sins,

Lord, who can stand? But with you is forgiveness and so you are revered.

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits

and I hope for his word.

My soul looks for the Lord more than sentinels for daybreak.

More than sentinels for daybreak,

Let Israel hope in the Lord,

For with the Lord is mercy, with him is plenteous redemption,

And he will redeem Israel from all its sins.

I reach my hand up to You, You pull me out of the depths of the deep, dark water to the surface where Your light shines upon my face. You carry me when I cannot walk. My God and my Lord, You are close, and I know that Your love sustains me. Amen.
