“Amen, I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, move from here to there and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20
I bring the Lord what I have, my prayer; a tiny mustard seed in the palm of my hand. It seems impossible to me. He accepts it.
I step forward in faith and I believe in God. I can’t see what will happen but I trust in Him. He sees, He knows, and He is with me.
I have faith that God will turn my tiny mustard seed into a vast plant that stretches into the sky. I bring Him all I have, in that small offering, because nothing is impossible for God.
Those are the same words the angel Gabriel spoke to Mary, “Nothing is impossible for God.” A young virgin pregnant and an elderly woman pregnant, Mary and Elizabeth, the Lord can do all things.
Sacred scripture demonstrates the vast and mighty power of God. The story of creation, the great flood, curing the sick, raising the dead, walking on water, changing water into wine, the resurrection of the Lord; the power of God is without end.
Thank you, my Lord and my God, for accepting my tiny mustard seed. Accept my soil of prayer to cover it and my tears to water it. I pray that Your light shines upon it. Amen.
