It is a Good Life

We take for granted the slow miracle whereby water in the irrigation of a vineyard becomes wine. It is only when Christ turns water into wine in a quick motion, as it were, that we stand amazed. St. Augustine.

Our 33rd wedding anniversary is coming up the end of May; it seems like yesterday, and it seems like a lifetime ago, when we took our vows to love, honor, and cherish each other until death do we part.

God gave me the grace this week to realize how blessed I am by my spouse. The Lord showed me a glimpse of our life together over a span of three decades of unconditional love, faithfulness, and friendship.

It is not perfect, it is not without pain; it is joy, it is peace. It is ours.

Thank you, my God and my Lord, for bringing Paul into my life. It is a public life, it is a hidden life, it is a good life. You pour out abundant blessings upon us like the finest wine from Cana, and I am truly grateful and humbled by Your providence. Our children are pure gifts from above, and I am in awe of Your tender care. Amen.

I love you, my friend, my husband, my true love. ❤️

Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, [love] is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8
