The Lord is good and wills my good. I find when I pray to Him in petition, He always answers me. It is either answered right away, answered later, answered in a different way, or it seems not to be answered at all.
I know the Lord hears and answers me, however it may be many years later, or after I breathe my last breath. It is in His time, and His way because He answers prayers to bring out the good.
I put my trust in Him because He knows and cares for me.
When the Lord answers me quickly I am astonished and in awe of His majesty and power.
Other times He answers in a way I did not expect and years later I come to understand why.
Other times He is silent and seems far away. It strengthens me in patience, perseverance, and abandonment to His will.
The Lord gives in abundance, and like a field of beautiful flowers stretching into the horizon, His mercy and grace is poured out generously.
Lord, I pray for the grace to follow You, continuing to walk towards the light in the distance through the field of flowers. I breathe in the sweet fragrance and take in the beauty that surrounds me. Thank you, my Lord and my God, for answered prayer. Amen.
Rejoice in the Lord always. I shall say it again: rejoice! Your kindness should be known to all. The Lord is near. Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Keep on doing what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me. Then the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:4-9
