My Joy

I have been thinking a lot about my kids. Yes, I call them kids, however they are all adults in their twenties. They are so loved and in my heart.

My joy is listening to them play a board game while laughing on a Sunday afternoon.

My joy is watching them interact and tease each other, while at the same time being a help and support to one another.

My joy is watching them develop their talents of writing, reading, music, art, and media, using their sensitivity, imagination, and creativity to expand their knowledge and sharpen their minds.

My joy is watching them over the years grow, mature, and have a true brotherly and sisterly love for each other and becoming best friends.

My joy is listening to them sing in the shower with the music blasting.

My joy is watching them with their friends, as they develop deeper bonds over time.

My joy is watching them spend time together.

My joy is good conversation and time spent together as a family.

My joy is receiving grace from God to let go.

My joy is watching my first born getting ready to be married soon to her soulmate whom we all love and consider part of the family.

My joy is having a loving husband and father to the kids. It is a privilege to have him as head of the family; the provider, protector, and faith leader.

My joy is experiencing motherhood with its joy and its sorrow, I thank God for the blessing of children.

“Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, his mercy endures forever!” Psalm 107:1

I ponder the way my human heart loves, how much more does God love?

I imagine that it is a pure, perfect, and all-consuming love for His people. He reveals Himself through the Son, the sacrificial love that never fails.

My joy is with the Lord.

I am His beloved daughter. He is my shelter, my comforter, my Lord, and my God. Perfect love casts out fear. Lord, hold me close and keep me in the light of Your face. Amen.
