I sit with the Lord, in the silence of the morning. In the stillness of the house, I breathe in and out slowly. I notice the beat of my heart, it starts to slow down. After some time my body relaxes and my mind settles down.
I close my eyes and be with the Lord in this time.
He is present, and does not speak. I am present and I do not speak. It is a time of silence and my soul is at peace.
The next thing I notice is that I am walking with the Lord, next to a beautiful lake, and no words are spoken.
I follow Him, at a slow pace, and He is next to me. I am content as I feel the breeze pick up and the gentle spray of water brush my face. The wind tousles my hair, and I feel a warmth surround me.
The Lord stops walking. The Lord looks at me, He really looks at me. He gazes into my eyes, and I gaze into His eyes. I do not look away.
I feel His gaze penetrate my heart and I feel that He knows me, body and soul. That He delights in me. That He loves me.
We continue walking, in the silence of the morning, and it is good. I start my day, knowing that He is by my side.
Every step, every breath, every beat of my heart, I walk with the Lord.
In the silence, He is with me.
Silence is God’s first language. St. John of the Cross
